Victorian c. 1880 Gold Gilt and Paste Set Locket Back Brooch
This lovely little 19th Century, circa 1880, Victorian gold gilt brooch is set with a central paste (leaded glass made to resemble a gemstone, in this case a diamond) in a square setting, surrounded by ornate decoration. The back features a glass locket compartment, currently vacant- for use either as a mourning or sweetheart brooch that could be set with a photograph, ribbon or lock of hair, still intact and a c-clasp closure.
