This spectacular antique English ring is a rare surviving example of a late Georgian double mourning ring. Inscribed to the interior, unusually in print , "Alexr Brown died 4th Augst 1830 Elizabeth Brown died 22 Feb.y 1832." It dates from the end of the Georgian period and shows the influence of the coming early Victorian style. Beautifully decorated in intricate black enamel designs to the exterior of the band it reads "In Memory Of" in elaborate gothic script. There is a central locket compartment intriguingly set with a scrap of woven fabric. What could this have been to commemorate two losses?

A true showpiece for the serious collector, it is large and heavy and made of at least 15k yellow gold.
