The combination of amethyst, chrysoberyl and turquoise might seem unusual today but actually was one of the most valuable and popular settings in the early 19th century when this pendant brooch was created. These stones were highly prized, with a price equivalent to emeralds and rubies and featured in jewelry made for the top of society- including Georgian era royalty! This beautiful piece of antique jewelry, made circa 1815, offers two for the price of one. Set with both a pendant loop and a brooch back, it is a versatile treasure of Regency era design.

The brooch pendant is set with four oval purple amethysts, four round yellow-green chrysoberyl gems and eight turquoise cabochons in an open back setting.
